I feel like the last two days my job has been to rat out little kids to the principal. I keep getting called in to tell the principal about what bad things a kid has done in class or before school or during lunch. At least by the next day the little kids have no memory that I ratted them out. I was upset by a kid at lunch because not only did he hit a little girl and call others names, he tried to bully me as well and said he would never listen to a stupid Gussack. But he is a SPED kid so they had to deal with it first. Then the principal. At least I did not make any kids cry today.
In my boyfriend's class when I subbed, we watched a movie on the Birth of Civilization. This movie had all of the gross things middle schoolers would like. Skull puncturing(surgery), playing with urine (turned into an insight about irrigation), the word "mate", etc. I rewound the skull puncturing for one 8th grade class one time, but then one sixth grade class came to that part of the movie at the end of class, so we watched it eight times in a row while little girls screamed. It was so gross and cool. The scene was where a man was beaten in the head with a rock for stealing another man's bride, so the family punctured the skull to remove a blood clot, saving his life but leaving him damaged. Now the 6th graders always want me to sub because of that. Probably not happening until the Spring since locals are chosen to sub for the other middle school teachers except for one, and I will not sub for her again I do not think. I have to deal with the bad 8th graders for 3 classes in a day when I sub for her. And not even in a row, so if they are really bad in one class, I get to spend the day dreading their return. LOL But pay-wise, I get paid the same whether or not I sub for an aide, secretary or teacher.
