So the VP wants me to help out with this kindergarten girl this week who has some health issues. However, as soon as I was called in, the VP found out that the girl did not come today, most likely because the mom was upset because yesterday there was confusion over the girl's special lunch so she barely ate. So I helped out in the library then did lunch duty since the big guns at school had a meeting and could not do it. It was only a short 3 hour day but at least I met some more teachers and talked to the native teachers some. I am trying to make sure everyone knows who I am. Tomorrow is a half day for me, then Monday I interview for the Librarian position! Now, they had someone filling in at the library today, a native woman. So that was awkward considering I am interviewing for the position but could not say it. So this woman was all suspicious and wondering why I was poking around the library. I really really want to be the Librarian. That would rock! But we shall see since I have the whole being white thing working against me.
I mentioned to my boyfriend that we needed to order a large bathmat because I've been using a towel since I have too much hair to be able to contain the water from my hair onto a tiny square of a rug. So he started ordering one. But it was bright yellow! Ack! I do not think so! So i said we could get blue or purple lol. I know he likes bright colors, but I just cannot have a yellow rug. I already compromised with orange dishes instead of black or blue. We actually have a book case and dishes and various house stuff on the way from Amazon as we speak. They sent it UPS though so unsure how it will get here and when. But the mail is weird anyways. Basically what fits on a plane with passengers goes. If the plane is full of people and luggage, barely any mail goes. So like our boxes came at various times despite being mailed the same day. A three day difference in one case.
I have been trying to buy yeast for a week for baking bread. Besides being a controlled substance because of its use in alcohol production, they have been out. A woman overheard me asking about it at the store and said she was moving to a different village and had a whole bunch of it. So we drove the Honda around the building to some sort of dwelling. She comes out with 5 packet of yeast (15 packages total) and takes $5 for it. Then we drove off. Score! I would of paid $10. The whole situation was funny because I was wondering why we were driving behind the store because I totally missed that she was offering to sell it to us that day. Now I can bake bread. It tastes good, I just hope when I have a bread pan, I can make bread suitable for sandwich slices without getting the bread maker. Bread is $7 a loaf, so if I could make my own for everyday purposes, that would be awesome. A friend traded some bacon for homemade bread, and I wanted to do that, but I was told I cannot go around trading our bacon. Of course I think bread is way better than bacon since I rarely eat bacon. And I keep insisting we have way too much of it. At least in proportion to other meat.
